Some 'Blue Monday' Positivity

Writer: MCC DigitalMCC Digital

Today, the third Monday of January, is known as 'Blue Monday'.

Blue Monday is supposedly the "most miserable day of the year," caused by a combination of post-holiday blues, guilt over abandoned New Year's resolutions, cold, overcast weather, and other equally dismal factors.

Our opinion? We strongly disagree...

We believe that a positive mindset is the best mindset. If you take a look at our 'News & Events' page, there's plenty of blogs on how to stay positive, keep your productivity and motivation high, etc. In fact, a week today we published a blog all about how to make your Monday amazing.

Which is why we've decided to take a look at the positive side of things!

Earlier today we came across this amazing campaign the Samaritans have created, they've changed 'Blue Monday' into 'Brew Monday'.

This campaign was formed on the idea that there's no such thing as ‘Blue Monday’. We all have our good days and our bad days, and those aren’t for the calendar to decide. Instead of allowing these negative thoughts to eat away at us the entire day, they suggested we reach out instead. Reach out to loved ones over a cup of tea, don't spend the day feeling down.

Lots of other companies have taken their own spin on today too, there's been lots of creative ideas floating around social media.

Ours? Simply do something that makes you feel happy.

You may have been sat online working for most of the day, but you can still easily find the time to squeeze in something that makes you feel fulfilled. Even if that is whilst you're working.

Here's a few examples from the team at MCC:

We hope you're having a great day!
